Dotty Skirt

What I love about sewing something for yourself is you have no limits. You can buy a pattern and alter it to fit your shape or if you didn't like a certain element simply change it to suit yourself. That's why I love LoveSewingMagazine patterns they are so simple to use and easy enough to alter to suit yourself. I find myself following the instructions for the first garment then altering it to see what else I can make.



 

For example my last sewing project was a dress made using the skater dress pattern, turned out great I love the way it fit my shape now I have only used half the pattern to create a simple circle skirt. I did have to take the waist line in a small amount to make it fit but other than that using this pattern was perfect for making a fun and flowing skirt.

 

I bought my fabric on sale from JohnLewis, if you haven't been to there sale then i suggest you go now they have such beautiful fabrics and low low prices. I love anything dotty i just find it so fun and cute so when i seen this fabric i knew exactly what i wanted to make with it.
