I have studied Textiles now for 3 years at Dundee College, I just recently had my final ever exhibition. I was feeling mixed emotions at the exhibition as it felt like it was an end of a era, to be fair it kinda is I mean that's been 3 whole years of my life. I have had so many sad and confusing days and so many days that I a grateful I have had as I feel its helped me grow not only as a person but as an artist too.
Textiles is an odd subject, there isn't a right or wrong answer but there is a certain way of doing things (I learnt the hard way). So many elements you don't realise until you actually start to study the subject. I only studied Textiles to help get into University which I have to say worked :) sewing is my true passion and I am happy to say I am away to study costume construction at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
The past 3 years of studying textiles really has opened my eyes as an artist, I have gained so many skills and so much knowledge. It truly has been a great experience that I am thankful for. Having my last ever exhibition with my class mates was a wonderful feeling, I felt proud of all of us. We have all worked so hard and achieved so much that we should be proud of ourselves.
I cant wait to see where we all end up within our Careers.
