Mini Projects

With it being summer I have a lot of free time on my hands when the sun isn't out I have been working away on some mini projects I have set for myself. I have been doing a lot of printing recently, i have printed lengths of fabric just because I love lino printing. I've been struggling as to what to make with these prints until I seen someone on instagram who was also printing but making little makeup bags from her printed fabric. That was that sorted I had to try this for myself.

Having done printing at college I have many lino's already cut but instead of just using the same I bought some more and decided to challenge myself, all my lino has been made from patterns that I have already re-searched and developed so I wanted to try and cut one from my mind, using my experience as my inspiration I just went for it and come out with a very of balance and geometric type print, this is new and exciting for me to just relax and go with the flow. I spent some time doing this one and handled it with care, I wanted to make something I could wear and be proud of.

If you are a crafter like myself then you know about the room, the room that holds all your crafting materials, the room that is so messy its a scary thought of tidying. Well I was brave and tidied mine a few weeks ago, it was wonderful I come across loads of sewing magazines I forgot I had. Looking through them all I found a cute pattern for a over the shoulder bag. Using scraps of fabric which I also forgot I had I made a reversible floral bag perfect for summer.
