MacManus Art Gallery

Dundee is a small city but has a wonderful museum called MacManus Art Gallery. its filled with Scottish history beautiful paintings and regularly holds exhibitions. A friend and I recently went to the museum to have a look since we both are artists we embraced being surrounded by such wonderful pieces. It was interesting to see some of the items of clothing that people used to wear years ago it just shows how far we have come in fashion, although some of the shoes I would happily wear down the streets today.
There was an exhibition on while we were there called ‘Jeepers Creepers: The works of Eduardo Paolozzi from Dundee Collections’ there was only two pieces that really caught my eye while having a look, it was these two frames that held small scraps of textiles, they are so fragile yet so beautiful I just had to sneak a picture.
Not only is the art work interesting the building has some interesting features, going up the staircase was this wall hanging made from recycled wash bottles painted all different colours and turned into lights. Such a simply idea but so effective. Like the kids we are Lauren and I found a room where you could draw a picture and dress up, well it’s for little kids but there was no one around to what the heck we went for it. It was roman themed so we went crazy with the selfies and having a laugh.

 Pictures from our adventure.
